OMG, just look at them. <strong>Don't they look like the perfect Christmas breakfast to share with your loved ones? <\/strong>They do, let me tell you.<br>Right now, I'm picturing myself at my parents' house, in the kitchen eating these sweet buns with them, boyfriend and nephews. That is the meaning of this feast day, to me.<br>As I mentioned in my latest post, Christmas to me has never been stressful. That dough was almost vegan, except for the honey.<br>This time I've used egg instead of applesauce and plain milk  instead of almond's, so it's definitely not vegan.<br>BUT... if you want to<em> \"veganize\"<\/em> it check out the recipe I've linked above and swap honey for brown sugar. Easy, uh?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the <strong>filling<\/strong>, instead of using raspberry jam I've used lingonberry. The initial idea was to use fresh cranberries, but I had no luck. Couldn't  find them anywhere!<br>I thought <em>\"Ok, let's find cranberries' jam\"<\/em> - Ditto. No luck.<br>So, they ended up being lingonberry jam buns. Oh, well...not bad. As I mentioned above, at first I wanted to make these Christmas buns with cranberries, then with cranberry jam. So if you can find them - I'm sure in the U.S. you can - try!<br>Yes, I didn't test the recipe with it, but these two fruits are easily interchangeable.<br>These two berries belong to the same family and they have a slightly sour and&nbsp;sweet&nbsp;taste. (...) Their bitterness and sweetness go well with meat, game, fish and several desserts.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to try them? Do it. Do you call these \"buns\" or \"rolls\"?<br>I use these two terms as synonyms.<br>I found on a <a href=\"https:\/\/alansmysteriousworld.wordpress.com\/2010\/09\/17\/what%E2%80%99s-the-difference-between-a-bun-and-a-roll\/\">website<\/a> that Tom Lehmann - a source at the American Institute of Baking - says <em>\"the term \u2018<strong>roll<\/strong>\u2019 is generally applied to filled products, especially those that are formed by sheeting and rolling-up or folding the dough\" (...) <strong>Buns<\/strong> instead are generally more bread-like in shape and typically do not contain a filling.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you say? Activate the stand mixer at low speed.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-10449-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Add the egg (at room temperature) and gradually sift the flour into the class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span class=\"p1\" style=\"display: block;\">Roll out the dough to be about 30 x 40 cm (40 x 50 is even better), on a floured surface.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-10449-step-1-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span class=\"p1\" style=\"display: block;\">Spread the filling all over using a spatula or a tablespoon.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-10449-step-1-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span class=\"p1\" style=\"display: block;\">Fold the dough in two, lengthways (at this point you should have a rectangle).<\/span><\/div><\/li><li
