I initially wrote this sentence towards the end of this article, but I’m writing it here now because I would love if you read it:
I’m sure that The Miracle Morning can change people’s lives. I know, some of you are probably rolling their eyes and thinking “Yeah, sure. A one-hour routine that changes your life. How can it be possible? It’ll probably be the usual mystical stupid thing.”. I’m not here trying to change your mind. Convincing people to do something, well, it’s not my job. If you want to believe that you CAN change things, here’s the chance. If not, you stay on the same position you’re now in your life, no changes (I’m not threatening, that’s a fact).
The positive thing? There’s nothing mystical here. I find Miracle Morning a really logical and rational way to connect with ourselves. There’s no God to follow. There’s nothing more well-grounded that thinking and meditating on what we are and what we do.
Finally, for that “Miracle” you’ll have to thank YOURSELF.
Few weeks ago, on my Facebook Group, I talked about The Miracle Morning. I’m so happy with that group: in a few days, it got crowded with nice people sharing their opinions, recipes and motivational posts. Since on my website I also talk about Lifestyle, I’ve decided to write this article on The Miracle Morning.
Remember: strong and healthy mind is the first step towards a healthy lifestyle. If you want to stop living an AVERAGE life, keep reading.
What is The Miracle Morning
“The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life… (Before 8AM)” is a book written by Hal Elrod, published in 2012. It took Hal three years to write it down. In the first pages of the book, Hal tells us his story: from the car accident, to his career that went down the pan. Maybe it’s because I was in a specific moment of my life, maybe I’m too sensitive, fact is I was very touched by his experience.
Hal Elrod wrote this book to prove how much POWERFUL our MIND is, how far we can go and how deciding our destiny is up to us. We have to power to turn our fate around. All this, thanks to The Miracle Morning.
Hal writes: “No matter where you are in your life right now (…) there is at least one thing I know we have in common: we want to improve our lives, and ourselves.” Now, if you relate to this, Miracle Morning is for you. Keep reading, try!
“Life’s too short” is repeated often enough to be a cliche, but this time it’s true. You don’t have enough time to be both unhappy and mediocre. It’s not just pointless, it’s painful. Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you ought to set up a life you don’t need to escape from.” – Seth Godin.
While waiting for you to purchase and read the book, I want to reveal something now. Like the routine organization.
The Miracle Morning routine is base on Life S.A.V.E.R.S, six steps on which you have to focus every morning. You don’t need to follow them in the order, you can totally shake them up. Moreover, you can decide how much to dedicate to each phase. You can do 15 minutes, 30, 45, 50…how much you want!
S for Silence
In this first phase you wake up and listen to…the SILENCE. You can meditate, think, breathe, talk to yourself. It’s up to you. Our lives are too hectic, and this could be the only quiet moment of the day you have.
A for Affirmations
Writing down or saying positive affirmations on what we want to be, feel, have or do, helps us to completely re-set up our mind. We believe in what our mind thinks, right? So start thinking positively and stop negativity.
V as Visualization
Visualization helps you to visualize the person you want to be in the future and near future. Clearly, imaging it is not enough, instead visualizing will help you to give the strength to work for it.
E as Exercise
Nothing to add in addition to what I wrote in other posts and on Social Media: exercising is essential to our health and wellness. We often say “Oh I don’t want to, I don’t have time”. Bullshit. You can find the time and you want to. The morning is the perfect time to start! Plus, after the post-workout shower you’ll feel reinvigorated.
R as Reading
Reading. Hal suggests to focus on personal development readings, but I honestly read anything I want. I can’t thank him enough: since I was at the Uni, I had lost the pleasure to read. Now, I’m back on track and I’ve started reading again.
S as Scribe
Writing? Yep. I bet you don’t write since…I don’t know. Maybe it’s been months, weeks. iPad, PC, smartphone, paper. Doesn’t matter, you just have to write down your thoughts, stories, poems. Writing keeps things alive, so they don’t disappear in our mind. Putting things down in black and white HELPS. Just, write.
What brought me here
Two months ago, I was going through a moment of my life where I absolutely needed some more MOTIVATION. I perfectly knew where I wanted to go, what I wanted to do in the future. But, you know that sensation when something is missing? Exactly. So this book entered my life at perfect timing.
Stay tuned because I will soon write an article on MY routine.
June 8, I was at my boyfriend’s house in Sicily, enjoying my holidays. I finished the book the day before, while coming back home from a trip to Taormina. I was so excited, beyond excited! I just couldn’t wait to start. This is the feeling that Hal infuses: every morning will be like Christmas morning for a kid. I’m telling you: you’ll go way beyond the 30 days of the Challenge.
Today, August 3, I’m at day 57 of my Miracle Morning.
I’m feeling well, I’m energetic and productive (for 90% of the time). I’m happy because I finally can take some time for me, just for me. In the morning, there’s that special calm, you know, so I can focus on what I’m doing. I’m even more certain of what I want to be and do in my future. I’m positive.
Cons: I should go to bed earlier because, even if I do not wake up feeling tired, I can’t do without sleeping after lunch. Obviously, I also have non-productive moments, totally normal. But I’m working on these.
What really makes me happy: I’ve learnt to appreciate even more the little things in daily life and gestures.
Thanks to those who followed my advice and already bought the book. It won’t disappoint you. Promise.
