We are in the middle of August.
It’s still summer and it should be warm. It should be, because in the area where I live sometimes it’s a little chilly, even at low altitude. But a fruit sorbet is always a good idea for your afternoon snack!
Sorbet is usually eaten after a meal as a creamy dessert. Indeed, you can also have it as a refreshing snack!
The traditional one, is the lemon sorbet, made of water, sugar, lemon juice, lemon skin and sometimes also egg whites.
But you can obtain delicious sorbets just by using fruit. I used Canataluope melon which I love, even if itches my tongue when I eat it.
Cantaloupe melon is a fruit very rich in healthy substances: it’s rich in vitamin A and C, antioxidants, and it also helps to strengthen our immune system and is good for the eyes and the skin! That’s precisely why I love eating fresh fruit: it seems to me that in every mouthful I eat a load of substances that keep me healthy!
- Fresh fruit in season, I used Cantaloupe melon
- A very good food processor
How to prepare:
Making sorbet is so simple! Make sure you use seasonal fruit. For example, I used Cantaloupe melon.
You just need to cut the fruit into little cubes and put these into freezer bags. Then allow the fruit to freeze for some hours. When you want to serve your fruit sorbet, take the fruit out of the freezer and GO HARD with your food processor (mine is 600/650 Watt, now I don’t remember)! In the end, you will obtain a very fluffy fruit mousse! Gorgeous, isn’t it? And, above all, super tasty!
Enjoy your sorbet during this last summer month… better if you wait a while after your lunch as, you know, fruit ferments in your stomach!
