I’ve always been an introvert and shy person. When I was little, my mother told me, I was always at her heels. Do not get me wrong, I loved playing with other kids but I simply struggled with making the first step. When I attended parties, I always stayed at one side until someone came to get me involved.
When I moved to another city to attend University, I literally changed and now I’m more comfortable with people. We always change, right?
MY PERFECT SATURDAY EVENING
My perfect Saturday consists in: lazy afternoon making what I love most (maybe kneading pizza dough for dinner), cuddling, laughing, peaceful dinner without pressing thoughts (‘Oh, when should I start gettin ready to go out? – When do I have to leave home to be there in time?’), and a good movie + hot beverage and blanket (also pop corn!). That is absolute perfection to me.
Sometimes I really don’t want to go out, I don’t even want to put on some make up and nice clothes. So lazy. But I also know that when I hang out with my boyfriend and friends I feel so well!
I told you this challenge would have been inspired by hygge, right? So another cornerstone – after lights, as we saw yesterday – is TOGETHERNESS.
Once, someone asked if hygge was more for introverts or extroverts. Hygge has both sides, I told her.
Hygge calls for sensations to be felt alone, instead some others when we are all together.
Meik Wiking, in his book, tells us that ‘Introverts are social, but in a different way’. That’s true.
To me, hygge is being with the ones we love and we feel more comfortable with, at ease. It’s not hygge if I feel set aside.
TASK DECEMBER 2
It’s Saturday, call your friends and have fun. Put your laziness on a side, we will brush up on it tomorrow. Today the most important thing is BEING TOGETHER.
When I’m not with my boyfriend (we live apart for the moment), I always hang out with my friends and we go in a nice place, where the owner is from England, to sip some tea. It’s the perfect place to hygge a bit and to talk in peace.
Be present, put your phone aside, talk with your friends. Enjoy their laughter and, why not, gossip a bit!
If you’re a bit lazy like me, this will be a little ‘challenge’.
P.S. if you’re the opposite and you’re more extrovert, try to pick just a couple of friends for tonight. Make a ‘selection’ for once.
Appreciate togetherness even more.
